The studios are located on the banks of the river Panke, a river that encircled the area 300 years ago. The foundation of the Great Berlin Horse Railway in 1873 marked the beginning of the development as a transport depot . When the electric tram service replaced the horse-drawn tram 1896-1902, also the bank backlot from the horse - tram depot to be rebuilt.
After the Second World War, the Berlin Transport Services (BVG ) use the workshops on both sides of the embankment for the repair of their buses and sell it in 2008
After two years of artistic temporary use, the place has been renoved and now is a very interesting performance and dance place.
