This weekend we've been invited by Berlin (Un)Limited to their event organized at the ZK/U (Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik) based in Moabit, just in front of the huge area of Westhafen in one of Berlin's former railway depots, a landmark building with an overall footprint of 2000 sqm.
It's a good occasion to get used to the space and to understand a bit more of what is going on in the past and the future of the city.
"Berlin Unlimited is the first transdisciplinary festival gathering arts, architecture and urban discourses to establish a picture of the contemporary Berlin 25 years after the fall of the wall.
Berlin Unlimited explores the contradictions of urban realities – between matters of individual freedom and urban constraints. It aims to bring together an interdisciplinary collection of work in the arts and creative media, architecture and urban design, theory and research, that reveal, reflect on, challenge, and reform, the limits and the limitations of the city; in its past, present, and future, is berlin limited, unlimited, unlimited ... ?"
"A diversified and thrilling programme of workshops, exhibitions, lectures, conferences, film screenings, creative catering, performances, guided tours and urban celebrations will take place with more than 100 artists, architects and researchers, inviting all Berlin enthusiasts to discover a complete narrative of the city based on the contemporary artistic production in context."
