1st of May is far from being a political day anymore in Berlin, since some years it has been hijacked to become more a huge street party and expecially in Kreuzberg it is a big big Turkish open air street food restaurant. This trend is not just a Berlin issue, but it is an European one, it has been shifted slowly to happy casual event, because it is more simple to handle people and in the long term nobody will remember it as a political day. And although there are people which are still organizing the #notmyfest demo, the political value of the day is very far from the idea of 1929 or also just of the big demos of Berlin after Die Wende.
With this idea in mind, I had a walk yesterday to collect some suggestions and impressions of the day.
