Today there's not much left here, just a Zoll (customs) area for wagons coming and going to East Europe, but during the Cold War this was one of the most important Berlin's way in/out directly to West Berlin coming from East Germany (and also from the rest of the Europe) with the name of Drewitz./ Dreilinden (Drewitz is a community nearby, and Dreilinden is the name of the wooded area in Berlin through which the highway passes).
On the other side of the highway is still possible to have a look to a Soviet Monument, originally hosting a tank and now restored and converted to a less strong symbol and painted in pink. (The monument is not accessible directly from the street).
